We have reached the end.
That sounds extremely dramatic, but we have reached the end of our story for this year. We’ve done all we are going to do, accomplished all we could have managed. And some of you will go out this evening and lose your mind. You will leave it all on the dance floor or the confetti filled streets, in your journals as secret dreams unrealized, never to be shared with another person.
Everything that you leave behind this year should remain there. 2015 is a fresh start, but what is more powerful than that is..it’s not true. Your fresh start is every minute of every day. Right after your done reading this post-New Years rant. You don’t need to make a list of resolutions. A resolution is just that, a list of resolved issues. Our lives are continually evolving, growing, exploding and coming back together again. I imagine a resolutions list is something some else writes about you after your dead. A list of all the finished items on your stack of completions called life.
Don’t make resolutions, don’t worry about them. Don’t worry about losing weight, you will or you won’t or you will. Don’t worry about the job, more money, kids, school, things, all our beautiful things that define us. These things will improve or they won’t or they will.
Are you getting this? You have a choice, to fulfill or talk about fulfilling. Fulfillment is 80% trying in my opinion. In Malcolm Gladwell’s book the Outliers; it somberly states – it takes 10,000 hours of effort toward a thing to find success at a thing. So you’re getting there.
This post is not meant to be some dribble with a ‘JUST DO IT’ picture in the end. Although I have been known to do that. At the end of this post, you should imagine a picture that says: “ YOU CAN DO IT and YOU SHOULD TRY.”
HAPPY YOU WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND GET STARTED MAKING THE LIFE YOUR WANT.
FOR MORE CONVENTIONAL TYPES – HAPPY NEW YEAR!
